Will Lankshear to Middlesbrough

    After missing out on promotion to the Premier League last season, Middlesbrough will be looking for redemption and are hoping to get out of the Championship this upcoming season. As a part of this, they have signed Spurs striker Will Lankshear. Lankshear has struggled for game time in North London and has enjoyed loan spells at Oxford, where he got 11 goals and 2 assists, and also prior to this, at West Brom, where he registered 11 goals but failed to assist a goal. He is a natural finisher and is regularly seen getting on the end of cutbacks and never fails to tap in a rebound. He has a big physical presence in the 18 yard box and has top level movement inside the box; he makes front post darting runs but also runs through the gaps in between defeners and hopes to get on the end of a cross unmarked. While primarily right-footed, he possesses the ability to strike a ball with both feet. Due to his height, he is a presence from set pieces, this is very useful in the modern game where set-pieces are a paramount part of the wat football is played nowadays.

Bristol City bid for Dominic Ballard

    Being League 1's top scorer last season means you have talent. That most certainly applies for Leyton Orient's Dominic Ballard. In 40 matches, he scored 23 times, this means that he scored in 57.5% of his games, On top of that, he also got 4 assists. In a season where The O's managed to stay up on the last day, Ballard will be looking for a move up as he is one of the most prolific young strikers in English football, as he is just 21. He is a lethal, orthodox striker who uses his intelligent box movement and lethal finishing to his advantage. He constantly runs between opposing centre backs and makes blind side runs. Additionally, contrary to the belief that strikers arn't good on the ball, he has top level ball progression and is a threat on the counter attack. At Bristol City, this is useful as they regularly play low blocks against tough opposition, with his clinical finishing and ball progression, he will fit in well with Bristol City. However, there is some difficulties with his price after Bristol City have had many bids rejected by Leyton Orient, who value him at about £5m pounds. This is a bit north of what Bristol City are wiling to pay but they are hoping that a deal can be agreed in the coming weeks.
